Crystalline solid releasing vapor Gas bubbling up through liquid from a sparger ring Microscopic view of mineral crystal growth

We move molecules.

Nalari Scientific is an independent R&D lab with cross-cutting expertise in applied geochemistry and process engineering. We develop technologies that optimize reactions and solve problems in the chemical, environmental, and materials industries.

01 / Approach

Granular solids tumbling through a gas inside a steel reactor

Reaction thermodynamics and kinetics drive what is possible in phase separations and transformations. We optimize systems for desired outcomes in valorization and purification to concentrate what is valuable, and remove what is not.

Gas-Solid TransformationsSublimation extraction. Carbonation mineralization. Volatile condensation.
Gas-Liquid InteractionsIonic liquid sparging. Aqueous phase separation.
Liquid-Solid InteractionsSelective surface adsorption. Enzymatic catalysis. Sequential acid-base reactions.
Multi-phase systemsAqueous phase dissolution-precipitation reactions in solid-liquid-gas systems.

02 / Platforms

We Develop Intellectual Property Platforms.

Each platform is the subject of pending U.S. patent applications.

Continuous atmosphere processing

Granular solids flow continuously through a sealed, controlled atmosphere. Material moves in and out without breaking the seal or batch cycling, and process gas is conserved.

Ionic-liquid capture

Ionic liquids, also known as “liquid salts,” serve as the capture medium for gaseous impurities and fine particulates. Designs span conventional indoor and personal settings as well as microgravity environments.

Sequential selective extraction

Staged solubility extractions split complex waste solids into distinct fractions: mineral salts, organic matter, and higher-value chemical compounds.

Reactivity control

Managing how reactive solids interact with water, either to stop a reaction and preserve a material's value or to prime it for later processing.

03 / Applications

Construction materialsUpgrading recycled concrete while storing CO₂ as mineral
Indoor airRemoving radioactive and other gaseous contaminants from occupied spaces
Closed habitatsParticulate and gas control where conventional filters fall short
Agricultural residuesTurning animal waste into fertilizer and specialty chemicals
Planetary resourcesExtracting volatiles such as water from lunar regolith
